CE mark is the "pass" for products to enter the market of EU countries and EU free trade association countries. Any regulated product (covered by the new method directive), whether produced outside the EU or in EU Member States, which wants to circulate freely in the EU market, must meet the requirements of the directive and relevant coordination standards before being put on the EU market, and be labeled with CE mark. This is a compulsory requirement of EU law for relevant products, which provides a unified minimum technical standard for the products of all countries to trade in the European market and simplifies the trade procedures.
Countries requiring CE certification are: countries in all European economic regions.
