  • BSCI certification requirements

    1、 Management responsibilities:

    1. Inform management and suppliers of the content of BSCI code of conduct.

    2. Establish a responsibility mechanism within the company's organization to deal with all issues related to the BSCI code of conduct.

    3. Appoint one or more managers to implement the BSCI code of conduct.

    4. Monitor the company's compliance with the BSCI code of conduct and implement necessary changes on the company's premises.

    2、 Employee awareness:

    1. Declare to employees the principles of supporting the BSCI code of conduct, and explain and teach the contents of the BSCI code of conduct to their employees and their subcontractors' employees. The company must fully translate the BSCI code of conduct into the appropriate local language and post it prominently in the factory and other premises. The relevant BSCI code of conduct and information must be orally introduced to the employees in a language understandable by the employees.

    2. Regularly train employees on workplace safety and let them know the impact of their activities on human beings and the environment.

    3、 Keep records:

    1. Keep the names, ages, working hours and wages of all employees, and make these records available at any time when required by BSCI auditors.

    2. Record all dangerous goods and places with potential hazards.

    3. Monitor and maintain safety equipment and appliances.

    4. Constantly update the documents and records of relevant legal requirements and regulations.

    4、 Complaints and corrective actions:

    1. Assign an employee to handle complaints about BSCI issues.

    2. Record and investigate complaints from employees or third parties about BSCI problems, and report these complaints and necessary corrective actions taken against them.

    3. Prepare resources to take necessary corrective actions.

    4. Avoid dismissal or other disciplinary action against employees who have made comments on the BSCI code of conduct.

    5、 Suppliers and subcontractors:

    1. The adoption of social responsibility standards and compliance with BSCI code of conduct are the conditions for all contracts with suppliers.

    2. Suppliers are required to report regularly on their progress in implementing the BSCI code of conduct.

    3. Monitoring:

    4. Provide BSCI members with information about their activities and production sites.

    5. Allow organizations representing BSCI members to audit their and their subcontractors' premises at any time, with or without prior notice.

    6. Consequences of non-compliance: if the supplier fails to meet the requirements of the BSCI code of conduct, and if the solution is not agreed and implemented within sufficient time, the members of BSCI can choose to stop the current production, cancel the corresponding contract, temporarily cancel the future contract and / or terminate the business relationship with the supplier. If the review results show that the supplier does not fully comply with the BSCI code of conduct, the supplier must immediately take the specified corrective actions. The supplier will agree with the auditor the time limit for the implementation of corrective actions, but not more than 12 months. In principle, the former business relationship can be restored if suppliers previously excluded for non conformity later show that they can fully comply with the BSCI code of conduct.

    BSCI, launched at the end of 2004, is an audit process that spans retailers, importers and brand manufacturers. BSCI provides a common code of conduct based on internationally recognized labor standards such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) and a single implementation procedure for uniform management machines for global manufacturers. The purpose of this audit is to continuously improve the social performance of suppliers and achieve SA8000 or equivalent certified best practices to continuously improve the working conditions of the plant.
